Welcome

The New York Water Environment Association, Inc. (NYWEA), was founded in 1929 by professionals in the field of water quality as a non-profit, educational organization focused on protecting and enhancing our water resources. Members include civil, design and environmental engineers; biologists, chemists, local and state government officials, treatment plant managers and operators, laboratory technicians, students, professors, lawyers, environmental scientists, equipment manufacturers and distributors.

The NYWEA is a Member Association of the international Water Environment Federation, which is comprised of 64 member associations (19 of which are international), 6 recognized operator associations, and affiliation with 3 additional corresponding international organizations. NYWEA consists of seven local chapters representing the various geographic regions across the State: the Capital, Central, Genesee, Long Island, Lower Hudson, Metropolitan, and Western. The Western Chapter covers Erie, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Niagara, Allegany, Wyoming, and Genesee counties.
